Gratzer

Gratzer

Colorado
United States
Gratzer, Seedstock Brewery
Description

Gratzer is a traditional smoked, Polish beer that was brewed for special occasions. The Seedstock Gratzer is champagne-yellow in color, with a fluffy white head. We brewed this beer using 100% oak-smoked wheat malt, so it definitely has a smokey aroma. The sweetness of the smoke combined with the spiciness of saaz hops creates an incredibly crisp beer – dare we say, the true champagne of beers!

The aroma of hops in this beer wasn’t very profound or strong, but rather muted when compared to other Double IPAs. I still detected hints of pine and resin aromas in the nose. The beer had a light copper color that was somewhat hazy and featured nice carbonation and very good head retention.... Read More

The aroma of this Hefeweizen had hints of banana and cloves -- an indication of a proper German hefeweizen. The pour had the appearance of a beautiful straw-colored brew, and was quite cloudy and hazy due to the unfiltered process. The flavor had hints of banana and cloves again alongside a... Read More
