Raspberry Nimbus by Lakefront Brewery is being judged here as a 29A Fruit Beer.
In the glass, it's a fairly cloudy deep magenta with a rapidly collapsing head. A bit of head would be nice, but the fruit is likely killing that aspect of the beer. The nose is full of raspberry sherbet, with some soft crackery notes in support, but largely fruit driven. On the taste, it's a straight-up fruit beer, not masquerading as anything more than that. For that, one can appreciate it. It at once has a strong sherbet-like quality layered on top of nondescript blonde ale sensibilities. Clean and fresh, if a bit lacking in complexity on the whole. Very drinkable but could use a bit more grain to support the acidity (fruit-derived, not fermentation). A nice beer overall, just one-dimensional.
