New York's First Farm Brewery To Open New Location

The Beer Diviner, New York’s first farm brewery and Food & Wine magazine’s 2016 top New York nanobrewery, has announced it will open a new taproom at 461 Broadway in Downtown Troy.

The new 1,000 sq. ft. location will serve as a bridge between the Berlin brewery and the greater Capital Region.
 
“I already loved brewing beer and my experiences have only reinforced that” says brewmaster and owner Dr. Jonathan Post, “Troy and the Capital Region already have an incredible craft beverage scene, and we couldn’t be more excited to be a part of that with our new location.”
 
The new location will be managed by Dr. Post’s wife, Dr. Cindy Parrish and daughter, Emma Parrish Post, and host weekly events including poetry readings and film screenings.
 
Boasting an eclectic range of both beer and gruit, from the 11 percent ABV double dry hopped Divinator to their gluten free ale, The Chic Sheikh; The Beer Diviner’s brews are almost as unique as his experience as a “beer diviner” and the history behind the name.
 
After being invited to brew beer in the African village of Dano, Burkina Faso, Post was immediately asked by the elders to build a small brewery for the village following their first taste of his beer. However, it was during his second trip that the shamans prophesized Post’s destiny, he was to divine beer.
 
While both the shamans and Post were uncertain about the meaning of their prophesy at the time, since opening The Beer Diviner brewery in Berlin, that meaning has become clearer and clearer; Post was born to bring beer to the people.
