Nine Pin Cider Celebrates the Holidays with New Winter Cider, Mulled Cranberry

Nine Pin Cider Celebrates the Holidays with New Winter Cider, Mulled Cranberry

Just in time for Thanksgiving feasts and holiday gatherings, Nine Pin Ciderworks is introducing Mulled Cranberry—a cozy, festive twist on a holiday staple. Nine Pin’s newest canned seasonal is crafted with 100% New York apples from Samascott Orchards and tart New York cranberries from Deer River Cranberries. The cider is infused with fragrant mulling spices and a hint of tangerine to create the perfect holiday pairing. Whether you’re enjoying a Thanksgiving feast or warming up on a winter’s night, Mulled Cranberry will add a delightful, locally-sourced “pop” of cranberry goodness to any gathering. Mulled Cranberry will be available to 26ers on November 18, and to the public on November 19.

November 16 marks a regulatory milestone for the New York cider industry: the beginning of direct to consumer shipping within the State of New York. Nine Pin representatives and others in the agricultural-based craft beverage sector have worked tirelessly since 2017 to legalize this channel of trade. Nine Pin will celebrate by providing free shipping to all pre-orders placed between now and November 18th, its first day of shipping under the new law.

Nine Pin’s involvement in the growth of the cider industry extends to the national level through their generous promotion of diversity in the cider industry to keep the vibrancy of cider alive. Once again this year, Nine Pin is a title sponsor of the Cider Is For Everyone Scholarship, organized by the American Cider Association. This scholarship is designed to support people from historically marginalized groups in North America in gaining access to professional development and networking opportunities in the cider industry. The goal is to increase the accessibility of cider education to jump-start the careers of these cider professionals.

Last month, Nine Pin announced a new partnership with the Olympic Regional Development Authority. As winter and ski season get into full swing, stay tuned to Nine Pin’s social media channels to learn more about exciting opportunities and ticket giveaways for winter fun at Gore Mountain, Belleayre Mountain and Lake Placid Legacy Sites consisting of the Olympic Center, Olympic Jumping Complex, and Mt Van Hoevenberg, and Whiteface Mountain.

On November 27, Nine Pin will release its very last 10th anniversary cider, once again making a past fan favorite accessible to cider lovers in a specially labeled bottle. Then, to celebrate this remarkable series, on December 6, Nine Pin will host an art show displaying the 10 original art works on which the labels were based, all created by Nine Pin’s talented graphic designer, Joe Klockowski. The original works, as well as postcard sets will be available for purchase. Joe will be available to discuss his technique and his unique approach to creating these memorable labels. Jacob Alejandro will provide sweet delicacies at the event.

On December 21, Nine Pin invites everyone to the first Great Gingerbread Build-off. Teams of 4 may sign up for the challenge to prove they’re the best gingerbread house builders in Albany. Tickets include one 12 oz cider and the gingerbread house materials and decorations. Teams can bring extra edible decorations to decorate the house. Prizes will be awarded for the best gingerbread house. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.

“As we celebrate our 10th anniversary as New York’s first farm cidery, introducing Mulled Cranberry feels especially meaningful,” said Alejandro del Peral, co-owner and head cider maker at Nine Pin. “This cider captures the essence of the holidays—crafted with New York apples, tart cranberries, and warming spices, it’s the perfect companion for seasonal gatherings. After a decade of supporting New York’s apple and cranberry growers, and the local cider community, we’re excited to share this new release with our fans and add something truly special to holiday celebrations.”

Cider connoisseurs can enjoy Nine Pin’s ciders seven days a week in their Albany Tasting Room located in the city’s Warehouse district, from retailers across New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Connecticut and at bars and restaurants who carry Nine Pin products. Residents in other states may purchase Nine Pin’s ciders through Nine Pin’s online store; New Yorkers may begin receiving shipments this November.
