Description 

Wee Mac Scottish-style Ale has a nice hazelnut character with rich toffee undertones. Hops are used sparingly in this beer and serve only to help balance the sweetness of the malt.

Wee Mac was the Gold Medal winner at the 2010 Indiana Brewers' Cup in the English Brown Ale category.

The aroma is sweet, with a touch of burnt marshmallow and hazelnut. The beer itself is a clear brown with reddish tints reminiscent of a hazy sunrise. The flavor remains sweet, but hardly cloying. There are touches of caramel along with maple syrup and a hazelnut spice, maybe some sweet dates and a touch of espresso macchiato. The balance in this beer really works and makes it very drinkable. There are lots of interesting flavors, all working in harmony. As Brown Ales go, this one is certainly interesting and a great beer for either a cool or cold evening tipple.

Brewery Introduction

Sun King Brewing Company is the brain child of Dave Colt and Clay Robinson. Dave and Clay first met when Dave was the bar manager and assistant brewer at the now-defunct Circle V Brewing Co. on the north side of Indianapolis and Clay was a student at Wabash College.
