BC: Who came up with this beer’s recipe?
This one was me.
BC: What’s your favorite aspect of this beer?
I really love how flexible the base is to secondary infusion treatments. So much can be built when you start with a strong foundation. In fact, we’re planning to use the base for more Fistful of Cake variants. A chocolate/orange variant is available now with more variants planned in the future.
BC: Is this your “desert island beer?”
It’s been 95 degrees and humid in Atlanta for the past couple of weeks, which has replicated a desert island. I’d probably pass on this one. However, if you’re talking Dessert Island – I’m absolutely in.
BC: Do you know a story – or have a personal story – that revolves around this beer?
My wife (Rachel Kiley, Monday Night Brewing’s VP of Operations) and I love to watch the Great British Baking Show together. I’ve actually gleaned a lot of different flavor combinations from it – ones that I might not have thought of before. I believe that without the show - or my wife - the beer would not exist today.
BC: What's a good food pairing for this beer?
Whatever you want. Life is short. Have your Cake and eat/drink it too!
