Back East Brewing Co. in Bloomfield, Connecticut has announced the release of two new IPAs this week.
The first is a collaboration beer for Pink Boots Brew Day called You Wanna Peach of Me?, which is an IPA with peaches. The second is Big Day Off, a Double IPA brewed in partnership with local radio station Radio 104.1.
The full release from Back East is below.
We're excited to be introducing two brand spanking new IPAs this week, plus offering you an official invitation to our St. Patrick's Day celebration on Saturday!
On Thursday, March 14, the women of Back East are happy to present: You Wanna Peach of Me?. Brewed by the women of Back East in collaboration with the Pink Boots Society, You Wanna Peach of Me? is brewed and excessively dry-hopped with the Pink Boots hop blend and added peaches. This juicy IPA has tons of sweet notes of peach, stone fruits, and all sorts of delicious hoppiness. Six-pack cans, growlers fills and draft pours will be available Thursday from 4-8pm. A portion of the sales of this beer is being donated to the Pink Boots Society, which supports women in the beer industry.
On Friday, March 15, we are excited to once again release our annual batch of Shad Derby Pale Ale. This is our 5th year as the official brewer of Windsor's Shad Derby Festival, held annually on the third Saturday in May. This is a truly local beer, brewed with CT hops and malted barley from Windsor's own Thrall Family Farm. Cans, growlers fills and draft will be available starting Friday at 4:00pm. Draft and cans will also be available throughout the greater Hartford area, so please keep an eye out for it at stores and bars. Please note that we will be closing early on Friday, at 7pm, as we are hosting the Shad Derby Kickoff Party.
On Saturday, March 16th, join us for a day-long St Patrick's Day celebration, Back East-style. At 10am we will be releasing Big Day Off Double IPA, brewed in collaboration with our friends at Radio 104.1. Brewed with the support and input of listeners of Radio 104.1, the style and name of this beer were all chosen and voted on by listeners. This is our first new DIPA in over 3 years, and we think it was well worth the wait!
Doors open Saturday at 10 am and we'll stay open until 8 pm. There will be a food vendor on-site offering breakfast sandwiches, corned beef reubens, and sausage & peppers (Irish-style of course). Holden & Amy will be here broadcasting live from 11am-3pm, so come say hi to them. If you're here early, you may hear some bagpipes and spot a leprechaun or two. Big Day Off will be available in four-pack cans, growlers fills, and draft pours, beginning Saturday at 10:00am.
We have an amazing tap list for this week, so wear your green and come have a beer with us!
