Amherst Brewing in Amherst, Massachusetts has announced the release of its long-awaited barrel-aged mixed-culture sour beer The Sword That Slays The Seasons.
The 7 percent ABV beer, which was aged 14 months in oak and 4 months on apricot, will make its debuts on December 14th at the brewery's taproom locations throughout Massachusetts.
The full release from the brewery is below.
After 14 months in oak, 4 months on apricot and an extended bottle aging, The Sword That Slays The Seasons is ready. This 7% barrel aged mixed culture sour ale is a long time coming and we are excited to finally be able to share it with you. We are happy with how every aspect of this beer turned out: the acidity, fruit character, cork-and-caged bottle, and these special wine estate style labels.
We will be pouring a limited amount of draft in Amherst and at our other Hangar Pub and Grill locations (Westfield, Greenfield, Pittsfield).
Bottles will be $17 each. 1 bottle per person. We will be allowing Amherst Brewing Mug Club Members the option to reserve ahead for pickup at their convenience. Spots are still available for the Amherst Brewing Mug Club (email us for more details).
