Birdsong Brewing Co. Announces Seasonal Return of Wake Up Porter

Birdsong Brewing Co. in Charlotte, North Carolina has announced the seasonal return of its Coffee Porter, Wake Up.

Wake Up is brewed with vanilla beans and fresh coffee, providing a full, aromatic pour with a deep, dark brown color that's both inviting and mysterious. With plenty of coffee zing to keep you engaged, this is a can't-miss brew.

The brewery also announced the release Dancing Days, a 5.7 percent ABV Gose that available on draft only at the brewery.

The full release from Birdsong is below.

We're doubling up on releases again because our guys have been so hard at work we simply don't have the cooler space to house all these beers. But first, don't miss out on the bi-weekly Go Figure Drawing Session in our private event room this Wednesday night. The class is FREE!

We're excited about THURSty THURSday's"Dancing Days" release. This light and bright Gose has hints of sea salt, lemon citrus and is amped up with a small dose of Cascade hops. For fans of our Sunshine Gose, this is definitely a beer you don't want to miss!

Party Battleship and Leisure McCorkle help to liven up our weekend on Friday and Saturday nights, so check out some live music in the tap room! If you get here on Saturday, you can also be one of the first to try our Fall seasonal Wake Up Porter. Smooth and aromatic with vanilla beans and fresh coffee, Wake Up is a longtime fan (and staff) favorite.

A Brief History on Vanilla: The popular flavoring we know as vanilla comes from an orchid of the genus Vanilla (fun fact: that's derived from the Spanish word "vaina" meaning sheath or pod). The method of hand-pollination was discovered by a slave named Edmond Albiusin the 1800s. His cultivation techniques made vanilla available outside of its native Mexico. Albius' methods revolutionized the vanilla industry and are still used today.
