BC: What’s your favorite aspect of this beer (flavor, aroma, etc.)?
My favorite thing about Stash IPA the beer's dry, west coast-style flavor that’s not overly bitter and still gives you that super dank aroma balanced out with citrus notes.
BC: Can you describe this beer in 10 words or less?
Piney, resinous, citrus, dank, delicious, dry, clean, thirsty, and another.
BC: Where does this beer’s name come from?
You know when you go to a party and bring good beer to share, but go back late in the night and there’s only crappy beer left? That’s when you need your brewer’s secret Stash – a hidden reserve of good beer to share at the end of the party.
BC: Who came up with this beer’s recipe?
Independence has been brewing Stash IPA since 2008. Our brew team back then played around with the idea of brewing a Double IPA but instead opted for a recipe that minimized the beer’s malt profile while accentuating the citrusy and resin hop flavors. Over the years, each Head Brewer has tweaked Stash's recipe just a little to suit their palate and keep the beer current with the times, which is one reason we started canning it over the summer. Even though we are constantly pushing ourselves to create new, innovative recipes, Stash has always held the top spot on my list of favorite beers to brew here at Independence.
