BC: Who came up with this beer’s recipe?
The recipe was found in the archives of Brewery Martens. It was brewed for the first time many generations of Martens brewers ago. Today we still use this recipe to brew the Bocholt Lager beer. The recipe is part of the rich family heritage of Brewery Martens.
BC: What’s your favorite aspect of this beer (flavor, aroma, etc.)?
The beer aroma, with its slightly fruity, but yet malty aroma.
BC: Where does this beer’s name come from?
The name comes from the town of Bocholt, the town where the brewery is located. The brewery was founded in 1758 by the Martens family. All this time the brewery has been a family run company. Eight successive generations have developed the company into a unique brewery with respect for family values and traditions. The name of this beer is a tribute to the town, which shares a great history with the brewery for more than 250 years.

The Bocholt lager is a very refreshing lager beer. This lager beer can be an excellent companion on a desert island.

Today this beer is still brewed according to an ancient recipe of the family Martens brewers from generations ago. The beer is a tribute to the former generations of brewers of the Martens family.

The beers tastes well with appetizers, seafood, grilled food, cooked fish and fine meat products. The beer pairs well with cheeses with a smooth texture.
