Boneyard Beer Founder & Brewmaster Tony Lawrence Talks Bone-A-Fide Pale Ale

We spoke with Boneyard Beer Founder & Brewmaster Tony Lawrence about Bone-A-Fide Pale Ale.

BC: Who came up with this beer’s recipe?
I did.

BC: What’s your favorite aspect of this beer (flavor, aroma, etc.)?
It just This beer POPS with flavor and aroma! Bone-A-Fide Pale was our flagship beer here at Boneyard for the first year in 2010-2011. It was designed to satisfy the IPAs consumers interest but with the ABV of a Pale Ale.

BC: Where does this beer’s name come from?
The team came up with Bone-A-Fide and it made sense. Sometimes we like to wordsmith with the word BONE.

BC: Is this your “desert island beer?”
From Boneyard, yes. If anything, I am always morphing from lagers to mixed fermentation to other fun styles out there. It's so difficult to have just one style stuck with you on a desert island. ;)

BC: Can you describe this beer in 10 words or less?
Bone-A-Fide is a Citrus bomb that is balanced by Boneyard's secret ancient brewing techniques.

BC: Do you know a story – or have a personal story – that revolves around this beer?
Bone-A-Fide was Boneyard's first flagship beer as I love hops and lower ABV beers. Although, after awhile it was obvious that we need to produce and IPA and then RPM was born. RPM soon took over a majority of our production.

BC: What's a good food pairing for this beer?
I'm not good at the pairing topics, just drink and enjoy!
