Short's Brewing Expands to Southern Florida

Short's Brewing Co. in Elk Rapids, Michigan has announced that it has expanded its distribution to southern Florida.

The brewery had previously expanded to central Florida in 2018, so the movement to southern Florida made sense for the brewery.

Elk Rapids, Mich. – Short’s Brewing Company is excited to announce that after a successful central Florida launch, they will be expanding distribution to southern Florida with Cavalier Distributing. The expansion will be celebrated with a series of events April 2-4, 2019.

South Florida launch events will include tap features at Taquiza North Beach on April 2nd, The New Hotel on April 3rd, and Das Craft Beer & Pizza Singer Island on April 4th. Distributed brands will include Short’s flagships, Soft Parade, Local’s Light, Huma Lupa Licious, and Juicy Brut, Short’s seasonal Soft Parade Shandy, and Starcut Ciders’ Pulsar, Octorock, and Mosa.

According to Scott Newman-Bale, partner and CFO at Short’s, “Western and Central Florida has already exceeded expectations and goals.  Everyone seems to have the Midwest connection so we want to show our commitment by making beer available to more people. And considering the brutal winter in Michigan this year who would not want an extra few days of sun for an East Coast launch?”

In an unrelated move, Short’s has also consolidated their Wisconsin distribution partnerships to include only General Beverage and Kay Distributing. Short’s brews and Starcut Ciders will still be distributed throughout the state of Wisconsin.
