Icelandair Airline Introduces New Onboard Beer

Icelandic airline Icelandair has introduced a nifty new way to keep passengers occupied while flying with them.

The airline has unveiled a new Pale Ale called Snæbjört (snie-bioert), which is "inspired by the Icelandic winter light and named after the soft glow of the Icelandic snow," according to a release from the airline.

The beer clocks in at 5 percent ABV and is brewed with Azacca, Mosaic and El Dorado hops. The full release from Icelandair is below.

Icelandair has introduced a new onboard beer, giving passengers the opportunity to start their Icelandic adventure as soon as they set foot onboard.

The new pale ale, Snæbjört (snie-bioert), is inspired by the Icelandic winter light and named after the soft glow of the Icelandic snow.  Its light gold color celebrates the beautiful snowy season and the glimmers of light that manage to conquer the Icelandic darkness.

The beer is brewed at Boyne Brewhouse in Ireland with American hops Azacca, Mosaic and El Dorado and American Ale yeast, for a hoppy and fruity taste with a sweet aroma of pineapple, mango and passionfruit. The beer contains an ABV of 5%*

The Snæbjört pale ale replaces its popular predecessor, the 737 Max IPA, as a locally-inspired inflight beer.  Travelers can enjoy the new Icelandair special edition pale in the Icelandair Saga Lounge at Keflavik International Airport, and on board all flights across the Icelandair network from both European and North American destinations.
