Beer drinkers like to laugh. What’s the funniest drinking story you can share with us?
During an award season several years ago after I moved to Los Angeles the first time, my good friend – we'll call her "Sal" – and I went party hopping. Sal is one of the most professional people I've ever met, but she had a bit too much to drink and I ended up doing damage control. At the first event I ended up diffusing a light-hearted dispute between herself and Jason Biggs. Later on, a gentleman who had bought a bottle of Ketel One decided he had to leave and gave the bottle to my friend. She started drinking from the bottle, at which point I decided it was time to go. Little did I know Sal was trying to smuggle the bottle of vodka out under her dress. The doormen were not enthused. After apologizing repeatedly for her and ditching the kettle, I got us a cab. Looking back, we probably should have called it a night at this point, but we were on a mission to meet a friend at a different venue. When we entered the next party my friend slipped and fell on the floor... truly ate it, but Pauly Shore graciously helped her up. After that, I called it a wrap. As newbies to the city, it was such a wild and memorable night. She and I still laugh about it.
Who's the coolest person you've had a beer with?
My buddy and I once bought Alfonso Ribeiro a drink. He was a really nice guy! I've had drinks with Lionel Richie. He held a small gathering for a mutual friend at a venue.
What are a few of your favorite craft beers and why?
Bear Republic Brewing Co.’s Racer 5 IPA! It's a family favorite and our go-to beverage for watching football. It always reminds me of good times and gatherings with loved ones.
Do you have a favorite (craft) brewery or breweries and why?
My Dad is a big fan of SweetWater Brewing Company based in Atlanta, Georgia. Whenever I'm home, especially during the holidays, my family and I head to their brewery location in northern Virginia. The combination of the great beer, the inviting venue and the company of my family always makes for a wonderful occasion.
Have you attended any beer events or festivals that you particularly enjoyed? What made them stand out?
I went to a wedding in Düsseldorf, Germany a few years ago. I was there a few weeks before Oktoberfest kicked off, but before the wedding we checked out a few spots around the city. Drinking beer overlooking the Rhine River was remarkable. It's so beautiful. One bar we went to had really thin beer glasses, and the servers wouldn't let your glass become empty. They just kept pouring more.
What projects do you have brewing?
It's been a busy year! I've had the opportunity to work on Hulu's horror anthology series from Blumhouse TV Into the Dark. It features spooky stories inspired by the holidays. I recently traveled back to the East Coast to play a role in a pilot that kicks off early next year, and to work on an independent film that I can't say too much about yet. I'm also so grateful to have an acting role in the upcoming Transformers spin-off Bumblebee, which hits theaters December 21st. It has been an incredible experience!
