The Best Beers For Hosting A Gaming Party

Top Beer Choices to Elevate Your Gaming Party Experience and Make Your Next Game Night Unforgettable

The best beers for hosting a gaming party

Games nights are a great way to socialise with friends and get a little friendly competition going. You can hang out with your best mates, have a couple of great beers and maybe a little grub whilst getting a great game going.

It’s always fun to sit and play 20p roulette at home, but sometimes you need a bit of socialising to go with your game. So why not go all the way and host your own gaming party?

It can be intimidating having to put on a spread for everyone if you haven’t hosted a gaming party before. That’s why we’ve put together all the best beers and food for a games night so you have a great place to start.

Best Beers for a Games Night

  • Budweiser

If you have people coming to your games night who are classic lager drinkers, Budweiser is a safe option to go with. And if you’re not sure what people like to drink - Budweiser is also a solid choice as it’s a pretty inoffensive beer to drink.

Lager is the least strong tasting of all the beer varieties so you can pretty much guarantee that people will like it - or at least won’t complain too much! It usually comes in big quantities as well so you can fill up your fridge and be set for the whole evening.

  • Brewdog Punk IPA

If you’re looking for something to step your games night up a notch, you might go for the classic Brewdog Punk IPA. This would be perfect if you know that the people attending are into beer and enjoy a more hearty and flavourful IPA over a lager.

  • Guinness

Guinness is another classic beer to go with when you’re hosting. People tend to either be huge fans of this beer or not like it at all - so make sure you check with your guests first!

Guinness is the perfect games night drink for the wintertime when it’s a bit cold and dark outside. A good pint of Guinness goes down smoothly and it’s a drink you can take your time with so no one is going to get too silly with it.

  • Desperados

If it’s a summer night and you’re looking for something a little bit different, why not go for a Desperados? This is the perfect beer to go with as it’s mixed with a teeny amount of tequila to get the party started. Add a slice of lime to the top and you’ve got the perfect games night beverage.

  • Duvel

Duvel is a great beer for all the hearty Belgian beer lovers. It’s got real flavour and depth to it so it’s perfect for those who have a real appreciation for beer. And if you can get your hands on their beer glasses, it really tops the whole thing off nicely!

Best Food for a Games Night

  • Finger food

The easiest way to go when it comes to games night food is to put out some finger food. This is food that everyone can eat with their hands so they can eat on the go and there’s no need for a big sit down dinner situation.

It makes the game night more casual and chilled rather than having a fancier meal prepared - and it’s a lot less hassle. You can put together finger food that are premade or pre prepared from a supermarket or make your own. The choice is up to you!

  • BBQ

If the weather is lovely and there’s still a bit of summer clinging on, why not turn your games night into a BBQ? You could start with the BBQ portion of the evening in the late afternoon time and then as the sun goes down, the gaming can commence.

It’s a great way to turn your gaming party into more of an event. You could even have kids games as well if there are people bringing their children along to the party. This is a great way to get more people involved and bond with each other.

  • Potluck

One of the best things to do when hosting a games night and you’re a bit strapped for cash is to arrange a potluck. This is when everyone brings a dish with them and you all share them around.

If you don’t have a huge crowd coming, you could do a starter, main and dessert. Or if there’s a few more people coming, you could do multiples of each. It’s up to you how you arrange it and decide who brings what.

It can be a really fun way for people to come together and bring something to the table. It’s also the most wallet friendly way of doing it so it’s not just one person or household having to host and supply food.

Now you’ve got all the best beers for a games night, the only thing left to do is get a date in the diary!
