Traditional piney and citrusy hops make up the aroma of this Double IPA. Buried deep underneath are some sweet malt and grassy aromas. It's a hazy orange color with a tall, dense, off-white head. The flavor is dominated by a consistent bitterness that lingers seemingly endlessly, and dense piney and resiny hop flavors pack a punch as well. This beer's maltiness adds body, but not flavor, aside from some barely perceptible sweetness in the finish. In terms of overall heft and balance, it's probably more accurate to call this example a Doubly Bitter IPA, as numbing the drinker's palate with bitterness seems to be its endgame.
