Straight To Ale Monkey's Uncle Double IPA Returns

Straight to Ale Brewery in Huntsville, Alabama has announced the return of Monkey's Uncle, a Double IPA that serves as a "grumpy uncle" to the brewery's flagship Monkeynaut IPA.

According to a release from the brewery, "Monkey’s Uncle touts a huge hop aroma, big citrus flavors and a bold bitterness that’ll make you take notice. Flavors of grapefruit and tangerine are noticeable under the strong malt backbone of this brew."

The beer will release in 4-packs of 12-ounce cans starting on May 28, and limited quantities will be availbale in cans and on draft throughout June and July.

The full release from Straight to Ale is below.

Monkey’s Uncle, the grumpy uncle to our flagship beer Monkeynaut, is a Double India Pale Ale weighing in at 8% ABV and 100 IBUs. This brew varies from Monkaynaut and Gorillanaut in its different grain bill and hop varieties. It’s big and hoppy like you’d expect from an Imperial IPA, all while maintaining a good balance and drinkability.

Monkey’s Uncle touts a huge hop aroma, big citrus flavors and a bold bitterness that’ll make you take notice. Flavors of grapefruit and tangerine are noticeable under the strong malt backbone of this brew.

The can art, crafted by Operations Manager Matthew Broadhurst, depicts an ape in a collared bowling shirt clutching a can, smoking a pipe as he peers off into the distance over his half-moon glasses; the look of your uncle who’s seen some things back in his day and now just wants to crack open a cold one and enjoy.

This limited release will be out in 4 packs as well as draft through June & July 2018. Stay cool in the summer heat - chill with Monkey’s Uncle.
