Stone Brewing in Escondido, California has released a new beer just in time for spring. Stone Patio Magic Double IPA is an explosion of flavor and aroma, and it showcases the brewery's dedication to pushing the boundaries of beermaking.
Brewed with an innovative Sauvignon Blanc grape skin extract from New Zealand, called Phantasm, which intensifies the flavor and aroma experience. The extract is made from grape skins that are usually discarded during white wine production. The skin extract, when combined with certain yeasts and hops, creates a unique taste that is sure to enchant beer lovers.
Stone Patio Magic Double IPA is also brewed with an experimental hop variety from Hop Breeding Company (HBC). HBC 843 features notes of orange, berry, floral and wood, making it the perfect complement to the beer's other ingredients. Stone's brewers work closely with hop breeders to develop new and unique hop varieties.
“Stone Patio Magic Double IPA is such a complex and innovative beer,” explained Jeremy Moynier, Sr. Manager of Brewing & Innovation, in a press release. “Phantasm and HBC 843 are complemented by the addition of Orange Peel, Centennial, Mosaic and Southern Aroma hops from South Africa, the latter of which contribute notes of passion fruit and lychee. Nailing the flavor profile with this unique combination of ingredients was a lot of fun.”
Stone Patio Magic Double IPA is now available nationwide. To purchase the beer, visit Find.Stonebrewing.com or Shop.StoneBrewing.com in select states. If you're looking to purchase Stone Brewing breweriana and other products, check out The Beer Connoisseur Store.
