Smartmouth Brewing Co. of Northfolk, Virginia announced the up-coming release on Saturday, December 16 of its latest mighty Belgian Stout on draft and in 750ml bottles. Aged in the darkness of Woodford Reserve bourbon barrels with tart cherries, this beer offers notes of dark fruit from the Belgian yeast and cherries with coffee and bittersweet chocolate aromas.barrel-aged stout. From the deepest depths of the abyss lives a heinous monstrosity filled with the ire of a million ravenous beasts who have long since gone extinct. Rubidus Nox emerges every lunar eclipse to shine its “red light” near the seashore luring curious passersby towards the water’s edge.

This ancient myth, serves as the inspiration for our mighty Belgian Stout, aged in the darkness of Woodford Reserve bourbon barrels with tart cherries. A force to be reckoned with, this beer has notes of dark fruit from the Belgian yeast and cherries with a slight coffee and bittersweet chocolate aroma. All of which increase in strength the longer you spend in its presence.
