LA VIE EN LAVENDER
Tart Ale w/ Lemon and Lavender
ABV: 4.5% | IBU: 10
If we could appropriately express how excited we are about this week's THURSty THURSday small batch, we totally would. In a word, we're thrilled. (And you should be, too!) Our collaboration with Amelie's French Bakery is out-of-this-world delicious.
Inspired by the creative desserts and pastries at Amelie's, "La Vie en Lavender" is a refreshingly tart brew perfect for our collaborative event. With pleasant citrus aromatics on the front and just a teensy hint of lavender, it's light on the palate and reminiscent of a tall cool glass of lemonade. It's flavor profile complements the lemon lavender sorbet sandwiches that Amelie's will be providing for the event. YUM! OH, and did we mention that $2 from each "La Vie en Lavender" sold will benefit Time Out Youth? This great local non-profit does so much for LGBTQ youth in our community, so take a moment to check them out!
Oui Oui!: The macaron, a sandwich cookie meringue-based treat, is typically filled with jam, buttercream or ganache and comes from the Italian word macarone (meaning "meringue"). Originally Italian, they were produced in Venetian monasteries as far back as the 8th Century A.D. and brought to France during the Renaissance. The iterations we know today (two cookies filled with jam or cream) is reported to have started around the 1830s. Fascinating stuff about your favorite cookie can be found here.
