Beer Here: Left Hand Oktoberfest Märzen Lager

Left Hand Oktoberfest Beer

As more and more breweries roll out their fall seasonals, pumpkin beers and Oktoberfests, Colorado's Left Hand Brewing has announced the release of its own fall seasonal, Oktoberfest Märzen Lager.

The release from Left Hand is below:

LONGMONT, CO • August 19, 2015 – Time to raise your stein and celebrate the change of the season! As the summer days come to an end, Left Hand Brewing Co. releases Oktoberfest, the traditional Märzen Lager for the late summer through early fall.

Left Hand begins brewing in the late spring as it takes a full two months to reach lagered perfection. Moreover, the brewers perform a traditional yet time intensive decoction mash process, boiling portions of the mash only 40% at a time. The laborious method takes up to 8 hours but is the key to Oktoberfest’s color and complex flavor. The beautiful copper colored lager with signature malt and warm biscuit notes will be available across Left Hand’s 35-state distribution for a limited time.

Left Hand’s Oktoberfest is a märzen lager, brewed true to style, giving tribute to its German roots. The beer’s heritage is referenced in the label art - showcasing the Bavarian lion and blue & white checkered flag, with a gold ring as a nod to the marriage of Prince Ludwig & Princess Therese (the celebration to which Oktoberfest originates). Pouring a brilliant copper in color, the märzen lager entices the imbiber with notes of warm biscuit reminiscent of home and fall tradition. Oktoberfest begins with the toasty sweetness of the malt up front while the noble pedigree hops allow for a dry crisp finish at 6.6% ABV.
