94 Rating – T.W. Pitchers' Brewing Co. – T.W. Pitchers' Radler

BC: Who came up with this beer’s recipe?
Both of us (Wilson and Tommy, co-founders of TW Pitchers' Brewing Company) came up with these recipes. Blending different fruit and trying different beers is the best part of the job.

BC: What’s your favorite aspect of this beer (flavor, aroma, etc.)?
Our favorite of Radler is that it is just so incredibly refreshing and crisp -- easy to drink a few after a long day.

BC: Where does this beer’s name come from?
Radler is German for “cyclist," and the concept of mixing citrus juice and beer is said to have originated in a Bavarian pub, where the owner originally made them to sell to thirsty cyclists.

BC: Is this your “desert island beer?”
Assuming we already have a cooler full of our own beers, we’d also bring... Tommy: It would be a tough toss-up between Schneider Weisse Aventinus, Russian River Blind Pig, and, since it is probably going to be pretty toasty on my desert island, Moonlight Reality Czeck Pilsner. Wilson: Cellarmaker’s Double Dobis Double IPA or a couple cans of Other Half’s All Citra Everything… yum.

BC: Can you describe this beer in 10 words or less?
Lager with fresh grapefruit and blood orange... crisp, refreshing, delicious.

BC: What's a good food pairing for this beer?
Radler is really versatile because it's so light and drinkable. From tacos, to burgers, to sushi, to fried chicken... We've had it all with these beers, and they are always a delicious complement to the food.
