92 Rating – T.W. Pitchers' Brewing Co. – Snake Bite

BC: Who came up with this beer’s recipe?
Both of us (Wilson and Tommy, co-founders of TW Pitchers' Brewing Company) came up with these recipes. Blending different fruit and trying different beers is the best part of the job.

BC: What’s your favorite aspect of this beer (flavor, aroma, etc.)?
Our favorite aspect of Snake Bite is how well the cider and lager components are balanced, with neither overpowering the other.

BC: Where does this beer’s name come from?
Snake Bite's name comes from a popular British pub-mixed shandy, where bartenders have been blending lager and cider for years.

BC: Can you describe this beer in 10 words or less?
Lager and cider blended, balanced apple with pilsen malt backbone.

BC: Do you know a story – or have a personal story – that revolves around this beer?
Going into our first-ever distributor pitch meeting, we didn't have a final packaged Snake Bite sample on hand yet, so we were literally blending our beer and cider by hand in the parking lot to give them something to try. The meeting went great, and we launched with that distributor soon after. Haven't looked back since.

BC: What's a good food pairing for this beer?
Snake Bite is really versatile because it's both so light and drinkable. From tacos, to burgers, to sushi, to fried chicken... We've had it all with this beer, and it's always a delicious complement to the food.
